The BRAIN BOOK® System was developed by Kathy Moeller, who experienced a brain injury herself in 1990 when
the car she was driving hit a bus in a head-on collision. After five months of residential
treatment in a state-of-the-art brain injury treatment facility, nine more months of outpatient
treatment and several job failures while she was with her state’s Vocational Rehabilitation
Division, she continued to experience difficulties getting back to independent life and work.
The BRAIN BOOK® System was developed in
response to this frustration. Since 1992, it has been shared with hundreds of others with
brain injury, and it has been formally taught since 1993.
The BRAIN BOOK® System elevates “compensatory strategies” to the tactical level of real-life living and working.
Since 1994, the BRAIN BOOK® System has
been taught one-on-one at the BRAIN BOOK® System’s
school in Medford, Oregon, and since 1997, through distance learning via the Internet.
Special arrangements can be made for Kathy to travel and bring “the system” to your community.
